How to Stop Being a Worrywart About Your Future

You’re not a fortune teller, quit acting like it.

  1. You are bad at predictions. Everyone is.

Imagine you’re rolling a dice multiple times and you keep guessing what number will come up. You will probably be right only about 20% of the time. And that’s only based on 6 choices. In life, there are thousands of possible pathways for you, and it will be a surprise each time. Everyone you meet and every experience you encounter will affect your journey, so it’s best to take it in stride.

  1. Stop being a ‘Realist’

Well, if you’re going to insist in being prepared, why are you only on guard for negative things potentially occurring? Why not expect positive outcomes as well? That’s equal opportunity! Give yourself hope that you’re deserving of good things.

  1. You Can Handle Everything

You already have a good track record because you have handled everything in life so far. Good or bad, you did it already. What’s another one?

  1. Live in the Moment

Probably the most cliche advice but it is the most important. You need to get out of the unhealthy headspace and take a look around. Focus on your breathing, surroundings, the people around you, and stay here in the present.
